Backyard Remodeling Project

chicadee.jpg (57886 bytes)We wanted to install an Endless Pool in our backyard. An Endless Pool is a 7 x 14 pool where you can swim or exercise against the current. By installing a "deep end", you can do stand up exercises - such as those I did after wrecking my knee.

After a ridiculous bid for the concrete work alone, we forged on by ourselves - without a contractor. We have hired professionals to move the air conditioning unit and upgrade the electrical service. We hired a coworker (Chip) for heavy work.

The project started out small, but grew. We decided to build tall planter beds to hold the excavated earth (and allow stand up gardening), remove the concrete that already existed in the backyard, pour new concrete, install the pool, put a deck around the pool, put a sunroom over the sunroom and most of the deck, build a shed to hold the pool equipment, and finally, landscape.
