Welcome!

R&W Consulting offers custom web site designs and ongoing site maintenance for small companies. We also offer advice on accessible website design and optimizing your site for search indexing.

Our focus is on universal design, using standards compliant coding, accessible content, and usable design. If we make web sites accessible to those with disabilities, we make our web content more accessible to everyone, and as an added bonus, the sites will display on alternate browsing devices (such as through PDAs or cell phones).

We have been working in the web almost from the start - 1993 or so. I was lucky enough to work where the web started in the US (see Documentation of the Early Web at SLAC), but have now retired. We are now volunteering at the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley, in animal care, general site maintenance, and Tracks newsletter formatting. I recently joined the Website/E-News committee for the California Council for Wildlife Rehabilitators (CCWR).

Use the links at left to learn more about our services, skill sets, publications, presentations, and things we do just for fun.

Check out some photos of our recent (November 2013) trip to the Galapagos Islands.

  • The photos don't do the experience justice. The animals were everywhere and had no fear of us. They are very well protected and conservation is the practiced like a religion. Visiting the islands requires a guide for every 12 people and where/when you can go is highly controlled. If you ever have a chance to take a Lindblad Expedition/National Geographic trip - do it! There were 95 passengers with 72 crew members, terrific food, impeccable service, knowledgeable naturalist guides, and a very entertaining expedition leader.
